Some thoughts about the class from students.

"This class is a must for any person seeking to express themselves through their art...it has given me a solid base of techniques that any aspiring artist needs...Thank you, Sarah. It was a joy." Larry Thompson

Here are a few more pictures from the students.

My Drawing Students Making Fantastic Progress

I have some students in my Summer Drawing Class that were adamant that they couldn't draw a face, but now they are doing great. They say they didn't think it was possible for them, and now they are excited that maybe they can be real artists. I'm proud of their progress.

Another painting I did at Roger Dale Brown's plein air landscape workshop last month was at a park in Richmond with a beautiful little river and a trail beside it. I tried to capture the atmospheric perspective as well as the linear perspective offered by the river disappearing off into the distance.

Had a great time at a plein air landscsape painting workshop in Richmond last month with artist, Roger Dale Brown. We painted at a horse farm outside of town and the scenery was lovely. I have finished up a few paintings I started there and posted them to my website.

Due to requests, I am starting a drawing class this summer at my studio in Chesapeake, VA. and students will be evaluated and taught based on their skill level. The focus of class will include the fundamentals of drawing (i.e., perspective, composition, value, masses). Students will draw from still life compostions and perhaps models.

The six week/six class session is starting June 30, every Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Fee is $150 and students are to call 757-546-0282 or email: sarahparks88@gmail.com to reserve their space.

Supplies: 11"x14" drawing pad, 18"x18" drawing board with clip, graphite pencils (HB, B, 2B, 4B, 6B), kneaded eraser, and charcoal sticks. For students who are evaluated as more advanced, they may be asked to also bring: conte crayons (red, white, & black or brown), and toned paper.
